From the Universal Soldier
January 12, 2007
They wanted us to stop trading with Iran because Iran is defying U.N. resolutions on its nuclear program.
Sound fair?
Let’s take a look at the most extensive violator of the UN resolutions - Israel.
Israel is currently defying a total of 32 nos. UN resolutions:
- Israel - 252 (1968); 262 (1968); 267 (1968); 271 (1969); 298 (1971); 446 (1979); 452 (1979); 465 (1980); 471 (1980); 484 (1980); 487 (1981); 497 (1981); 573 (1985); 592 (1986); 605 (1987); 607 (1986); 608 (1988); 636 (1989); 641 (1989); 672 (1990); 673 (1990); 681 (1990); 694 (1991); 726 (1992); 799 (1992); 904 (1994); 1073 (1996); 1322 (2000); 1402 (2002); 1403 (2002); 1405 (2002); 1435 (2002);
- list extracted from a partial list complied by Stephen Zunes, Foreign Policy in Focus.
And what have they done?
- continue to provide Israel military aids, estimated to be US$3 billion per year for the past decade.
- Israel remains the biggest importer of US weaponry and military equipment.
Seriously, with this sort of double standards, there will never be peace even if the Universal Soldiers increase its troop level in Iraq by 200,000.
State terrorism is the worst form of terroism and this includes Iran’s stated intention to wipe Israel off the map and the US’s actual practice to ensure Israel willl wipe Palestine off the map.
Universal Soldier (written by Sainte Marie Buffy)
He’s 5 foot 2 and he’s 6 feet 4
He fights with missiles and with spears
He’s all of 31 and he’s only 17.
He’s been a soldier for a thousand years
He’s a catholic, a Hindu, an atheist, a Jane
A Bhuddist, and a Baptist and Jew.
And he knows he shouldn’t kill
And he knows he always will kill
You’ll for me my friend and me for you
And He’s fighting for Canada.
He’s fighting for France.
He’s fighting for the USA.
And he’s fighting for the Russians.
And he’s fighting for Japan
And he thinks we’ll put an end to war this way.
And He’s fighting for democracy,
He’s fighting for the reds
He says it’s for the peace of all.
He’s the one, who must decide,
who’s to live and who’s to die.
And he never sees the writing on the wall.
But without him,
how would Hitler have condemned him at Dachau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone
He’s the one who gives his body
as a weapon of the war.
And without him all this killing can’t go on
He’s the universal soldier
And he really is the blame
His orders comes from
far away no more.
They come from him.
And you and me.
And brothers can’t you see.
This is not the way we put an end to war
